Literature Text

I have hot chocolate
I am alone on this day
In sadness, I sit

Don't get your hopes up
People are disappointing
Don't rely on them

So selfish they are
So blinded by their egos
Ignorant they are

I can't remember
what as that though I just lost
Damn my memory

Little hook of hair
Always hanging in my eye
When I want to write

I like this cheesecake
It is a pumpkin cheesecake
With a nice crumb crust

On the brink of rain
The sun hides behind the clouds
The sky remains grey

Gentle rain outside
Echoes of the city life
I can see my breath

A calm wind blows by
Up high on the fire escape
Standing here alone
This is a random collection haiku poems I write throughout the day. I have a notebook I write in. Nothing special, just thoughts and haiku poems. The idea is that now and then I'll post some of these haiku poems so hopefully someday there will be more colletions. I've written 257 haiku poems since I started writing random things in notebooks. Many of them reflect what I'm doing at the time, what's on my mind, whatever I see around me, or just something silly or annoying. Basically, random thoughts. So now and then I'll pick some out and post them here.

They all follow the basic 5-7-5 syllable structure. Many of them I write while sitting at the local coffee shop. Sometimes I write them in bars. Usually any place I'm sitting around and I think to bring my notebook. I'm not a writer or a poet, so this is the closest thing I have ever done to writing.
